What is the 3levelscorer and who am I
Hello, everyone. My name is Christopher Ferguson, and I am the owner and primary contributor for the 3levelScorer. Before I dive into what I want this website to be, its purpose, and why you should be interested in subscribing, I have a few background details I would like to share with you about myself. I am currently a college student at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and I have always been a huge fan of basketball, thanks to the current and former great Division 1 basketball coaches in my family. I have always been a big fan and have dreamt of covering the game of basketball in media for some time now because I have always enjoyed learning from others and sharing my thoughts and opinions of every facet of the game. I have always wanted somewhere where I can share my thoughts and enter the basketball media world. Because of my newfound likeness and high interest in digital writing, I decided to start a website centered around articles on every level of basketball. Thanks to this website, I now have a way to share my thoughts and viewpoints on the game of basketball in a very creative and fun way, which I have been striving to look for for some time. Enough about me, though, and more about this website and why I started it. I started this website to share my opinions and contribute to improving the basketball media space. Currently, Basketball media can get lazy, based on extreme thoughts, and driven on “takes.” I think takes and debating things can be fun, but we need more diversity and productive conversations where we learn from each other, discuss all aspects of basketball, and dissect the game more than just trying to limit the conversation to who is right and who is wrong and only talk about the narratives that are created with the sport. We need more media people who explain what they see happening on the court, speak about everything involved with basketball, and bring more positivity through explaining what they see on the court and enjoy about this sport. Now, of course, there is going to be some critiquing and negativity at times when speaking about this sport, but there is always an appropriate way to do it, and some people in the basketball media space don’t understand that. We also need more people who don’t rinse and repeat the same talking points and narratives everyone is tired of hearing about. We need more people who show appreciation and give thoughtful and varying opinions and analyses on everything we have across all levels of basketball. Thankfully, you and I now have this website for those things. One of the big reasons I called this website 3levelScorer is because I want this to be somewhere you can find content on all 3 levels of basketball. I want to be someone who divulges attention into all 3 levels of basketball not only because it helps us learn more about the game and see where it’s going but also because it is fun to do. Basketball is a year-round thing because while college, NBA, and High Schools aren’t playing games during the summer, we have AAU circuits, FIBA competitions, off-season transactions off the court, the draft, and summer leagues on all levels happening during the “off-season.” All levels of basketball are exciting and interesting, and I love covering and watching all 3 levels of basketball. Now, you probably are wondering why you should subscribe and pay 3.99 a month. Well, first, a subscription to my website is cheaper than a monthly subscription to the Athletic (7.99), Netflix (9.99), Disney Plus (9.99), Amazon Prime (14.99), ESPN Plus (9.99), Hulu (7.99), HBO Max (16.00), Spotify (9.99), Apple Music (10.99), and an average gym membership (20 - 60$). A monthly subscription fee also helps keep me in check and responsible for giving you guys, the reader, the best form of written media that I can possibly give to you guys because you definitely deserve some fantastic and detailed articles if you have given me your hard-earned money. Finally, I will provide you with some of my goals and things I strive for as long as this website exists. I want this place to be somewhere where casual fans can learn, “experts” can hear a different perspective, and diehards can enjoy reading about the game we all love. This website is an ever-growing thing. Nobody is a basketball expert, and the only way to gain knowledge is to invest time and hours into the subject, so keep that in mind. I may know more than some people, but we can always learn from each other, fans, analysts, and people who cover and watch basketball. I hope this website can be used as a place where you can learn and enjoy reading about every level of basketball, and if you’re not a fan of a level of basketball, hopefully, you can become one and eventually be a fan of all 3, like I am.
